Itinerary
Day 1: Ghanzi, Botswana
You will be picked up from your hotel in Windhoek and we’ll make our way towards Ghanzi on the edge of the Kalahari Desert to begin the Botswana leg of our journey.
We’ll spend the afternoon with and learning about the San people, one of the oldest tribes on earth.
The San are fascinating people who are deeply connected to the natural world.
Please Note: We will be leaving Windhoek early in the morning, so you will need to stay in Windhoek on the night of the 4th September. We can arrange your accommodation in Windhoek, however due to limited places, only those booked on the Rock My Namibia Adventure will be able to stay at the giraffe hotel.
- Meals: Lunch & Dinner
- Accommodation: Lodge (Ensuite)

Day 2: The Okavango Delta, Botswana
From Ghanzi, we’ll then head towards Maun for lunch, before making our way into the Okavango Delta. When we arrive, our camp will be set up ready for us to relax and enjoy our surroundings.
‘The Delta’ is the world`s largest inland delta and a UNESCO World Heritage site, formed when seasonal water flowing from the Angolan highlands creates a flood that produces channels and islands that transform the environment into one of the most unique and beautiful landscapes on earth.
This part of Botswana is home to an abundance of wildlife including, elephants, wild dogs, hippo, lions, and zebra.
- Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
- Accommodation: Twin Occupancy (Mobile Tented Camp – Elevated Camp Beds, Ensuite)

Day 3: The Okavango Delta, Botswana
In the morning, we’ll head out on a bush walk through the Delta with an experienced local guide.
This will give you the opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna of the area and there will be a chance to see animals such as giraffes, antelope, and elephants. Which is a thrilling experience when travelling on foot.
In the afternoon, we’ll go on safari, explore the waterways and you will be able to try out your mokoro poling skills and swim in the Delta.
We’ll then return to camp to enjoy sundowners, watch the sunset and listen to the hippos grunting.

These mischievous creatures are habituated to humans, so don’t be surprised if they climb on you to get a better view over the landscape.
We’ll then jump on quad bikes (optional) to ride across Ntwetwe Pan, a salt pan in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
We’ll watch the sunset over the pans, enjoy a traditional braai (bbq), watch the ‘Bish TV’ (the campfire) and sleep out under the spectacular starry skies in a mobile fly camp (mattresses under the stars – no tents).
A magical experience that you’ll never forget!

Every day (and night) elephants and other animals visit the lodge to drink. The waterhole is visible from the pool, the bar or your room, so wherever you fancy hanging out, you’ll have a front-row seat. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the view, or take a dip in the pool – your choice!

Testimonials

“It is one of those trips that everyone should do!”
“I loved the wildlife, the people and the adventure aspect. Since the group was small, it was easy to connect with the others and I enjoyed sharing the experiences with them. “Magical” is how I have described it to many friends when they have asked. I think back on all of the wildlife we saw and all of the activities we did and it almost seems surreal now that we are back in our everyday lives. It surpassed all of my expectations and I would not have changed anything. It is one of those trips that everyone should do!”

“This trip simply blew my mind.”
“This trip simply blew my mind. Never before have I encountered so much wildlife close-up. The highlights kept coming! Having initially felt somewhat apprehensive about camping, it turned out to be my favourite part of the trip. Being so completely immersed in nature, falling asleep to the sound of hippos close to the tent and watching the mist rise from the river in the early morning light, made us feel incredibly alive. This trip is a treat for all animal lovers that you cannot effort to miss.”
KATJA | GERMANY

“It was amazing! The best trip ever!”
“Travelling in a group was great, everybody was very nice and getting to know people from all over the world made the trip even better. All the guides were great. Helen was very funny and always happy. She took care of everything for us and gave us great tips. We tried a lot of the traditional foods, visited villages, met locals, went to a school, crashed a wedding and tried the mokoro. It was amazing! The best trip ever! I’m glad I chose Rock my adventure and I will sign in for another trip.”
