Rock My Botswana & Victoria Falls Adventure

Travel through the heart of Botswana & Zimbabwe on an magical safari and immersive cultural journey.

Starting in Maun, this trip takes in all the major highlights of Botswana including Chobe National Park, Savuti, Moremi Game Reserve, the Okavango Delta and Elephant Sands. We’ll also spend time with the San people, before finishing at the world famous Victoria Falls, one of the wonders of the natural world!

This Botswana tour will blow your mind and take you back to nature like no other!

Starting in Maun, Botswana, we’ll begin by spending time with the San people also known as the ‘Bushmen’ due to their incredible knowledge of the plants, animals and their surroundings. We’ll spend the day with them, visiting their village and learning about their culture, traditions and survival skills.

From there we’ll head into the Okavango Delta by traditional canoe, where we’ll spend the next two nights. Whilst there we’ll have the chance to go on mokoro rides through the waterways, and take walking safaris on the islands and you’ll take an incredible scenic flight over the Delta itself.

Next up is a 4-day safari into the Botswana bush, starting with Moremi Game Reserve, where you will find a vast number of animals including elephants, giraffe, lion, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, wild dogs and around 500 species of bird. From Moremi, we’ll enter Savuti, an area of Chobe National Park known for its incredible and unusual elephant hunting lions. We’ll spend 2 night here in the heart of the bush. There’s nothing quite like a Botswana safari!

From there we’ll spend the night at the incredible Elephant Sands, a lodge with a waterhole that attracts elephants on a daily basis, allowing you to see the elephants up close from the pool, the bar or your room! Magical!

Next, we’re heading back to Chobe for one final safari. We’ll explore the river by boat and have a high chance of seeing large groups of elephants drinking and playing in the river.

Our last stop is Victoria Falls town, the adventure capital of Africa and home to the mighty Victoria Falls waterfall! Here there will be time to take part in some of the fantastic activities on offer, such as microlighting over the falls, bungee jumping, helicopter rides and white water rafting, to name but a few.

Come with us on the adventure of a lifetime!

“The trip exceeded my expectations and it was exactly what I had hoped it would be! It’s given me the travelling experience I felt I missed out on by not having a gap year when I was younger and has also given me the confidence to have adventures of my own! I absolutely loved visiting Sierra Leone with Rock My Adventure and I would definitely recommend any of the tours to my friends! Having never done any travel in Africa before and having only ever travelled with people I already knew, to say I was anxious at the start of the trip was a complete understatement. However, within a few hours I couldn’t have been happier and by the end of the trip not only had my confidence grown immeasurably but I had also made 6 friends for life. This trip exceeded all my expectations by far and I have made the most incredible memories that I definitely won’t forget! The hardest thing now is how to decide which tour to book next…”

Savuti is also known for high numbers of predators, including lions, leopards, hyenas and wild dogs.

The lions in Savuti are historically famous for their unusual behaviour and excellent hunting skills. They have been known to hunt and kill elephants which is uncommon in other parts of Africa. This behaviour began when Savuti was dry and still continues today.

Travel insurance is essential for ALL Rock My Adventure trips.

Your health and safety when travelling is of the utmost importance, so it is vital that you have travel insurance policy that covers you for your trip to Africa. Adequate travel insurance is a condition of your contract with us and you will not be able to join a trip without it.

You must be satisfied that your insurance fully covers all your personal requirements including cancellation charges, theft, medical expenses and repatriation in the event of accident or illness.

Your insurance should also cover you for any adventurous activities that you wish to do – this includes the ‘included’ activities on the tour and any ‘optional’ activities.

Please be aware that some hazardous activities such as (but not limited to) white water rafting on grade 5 rapids, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, safari walks, bungee jumping and sky diving may not be covered by all policies, so you may have to take out a higher level of cover.

Medical care is not free in Africa and even the cost of getting to hospital can be super expensive, so you need to be covered in case of a medical emergency, including air ambulance evacuation and repatriation in the event of accident or illness. For example, if your appendix bursts whilst we are in the Serengeti, you will need to be evacuated by helicopter to Nairobi. Without insurance you would need to pay for that out of your own pocket.

If you are bringing along any electrical equipment such as cameras and laptops, you should also ensure your insurance covers those items too. Some policies only have this as an add-on.

If you are travelling to an area that is subject to foreign office warnings, this may void your travel insurance, so you may need to take out an additional policy for the days you are in the danger zones.

Please always read the small print.

Your tour leader will collect your travel insurance details on the first day of your trip, so please have the following information ready for them:

  • Name of insurance provider.
  • Your policy number.
  • The telephone number to call in the event of an emergency.
  • Your next of kin name and number.
