Rock My Senegal & Guinea-Bissau Adventure

15 Nights from £3,915*

Tour Overview & Highlights

Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau offer one of West Africa’s most rewarding combinations of culture, music, spirituality, and coastline – experienced best at a slower, more immersive pace.

This exploratory tour begins in the vibrant city of Dakar, before travelling through historic Saint-Louis, sacred spiritual sites, and the wildlife-rich landscapes of northern Senegal. Heading south, we immerse ourselves in the cultural heart of Casamance, experiencing village life, drumming, reggae rhythms, and sacred traditions.

We then cross into Bissau before venturing out to the wild and beautiful Bijagós Islands, where island life, powerful ceremonies, and community-led experiences offer a rare and meaningful insight into one of West Africa’s most fascinating regions.

We’ll finish the journey back on the mainland in Bissau, where the trip culminates with the vibrant celebrations of Bissau Carnival – a colourful explosion of music, masks, dancing and creativity.

This is a journey through West Africa’s rhythms – spiritual, cultural, and musical – designed for curious travellers who want to explore beyond the familiar and experience the region in a deeper, more connected way.

Society in the Bijagós follows a matrilineal tradition, with families and clans traced through the mother’s line. Villages are typically overseen by a king, alongside a priestess and a council of elders who play an important role in community decisions.
